Polish Food in the Hizzouse.

Helloooooooo again!!!

I know I've TOTALLY been neglecting the food part of this blog, but to be honest with you I haven't had my usual voracious appetite these past few weeks. In fact, my food selections have been downright suicidal. But don't worry, I'm totes bringing sexy back. And by bringing sexy back, I mean I cooked dinner tonight.

Tonight's menu: Pierogies

You will need the following items:

Pierogies.

If you've never tried them before, pierogies are like little pasta pockets filled with mashed potatoes and cheese. They come in other flavors, but this flavor is that only one that matters to me. This meal is 100% carb. And also 100% heaven.

Mrs. T's is my favorite brand mostly because it's the only one I've tried. Mrs. T's (not to be confused with Mr. T) can be found in the freezer section next to other exotic items, such as challah bread and latkes.

Ok, so the recipe goes something like this. Boil frozen pierogies for like 5 minutes. Or until they all float to the top.

Remove from water and continue cooking process with a skillet and oil. Fry those badboys lightly so they're goldeny delicious. This step also adds shine and lustre to your hair within 3-5 days.

The process could stop there, but since I like to eat like kings, I top mine with grated chedder and serve with sour cream on the side. (I went a little overboard with the cheese. So what.)

And Voila! Get your Polish on!

Speaking of Polish, my good friend Randy (holla!) steered me in the direction of a website called What the Fuck Should I Make For Dinner? This site wins on name alone.

Pierogies own my ass. 2 of my favorite things on the planet? MASHED TATERS AND PASTA, as I type I'm eating pasta for breakfast and now I'm all angries because it's not filled with taters.

I'm totally eating 'rogies for dinner tonight, my ass thanks you for the gentle reminder.

I think I just gained 2 lbs from even reading about pierogies. And I'm 100% okay with it.

I'm going to have to check that website out. I never know what the fuck to make for dinner. You mean three nights of "mystery cereal" doesn't count? Whhha-haa?

I have never had a pierogie. Sounds like something I would eat way too much of.

My mom loves Pierogies, but she likes the onion flavors and i don't think ours ever hit a frying pan. I'm going to have to try the cheese ones with sour cream, it sounds so yummy!

BISCUIT- you're welcome for the gentle reminder. in fact, if you ever need any more gentle reminders on what horribly delicious foods you should totally be eating, let me know and i will refresh your memory.

DEBS- you're NEVER had a piergie?!?! blasphemy.

LIZ- it's definitely not diet food. but if you're planning on going hog wild, this is the way to do it.

I love pierogies! My freshman year of college I lived in the dorms and ate cafeteria food. Those cafeteria ladies never failed me on my pierogies. And they had all sorts of flavors too.
ps: there is NEVER too much cheese.

My hubs and his family are big time pierogie fans. They buy them homemade at a Polish church. His mom just called us to let us know she got blueberry peirogies although I prefer the ched. Yours look like they came out awesome!
