How Do You Eat Your Waffles?

The other morning, we made waffles for breakfast. Eric told Pearl that we were having waffles and mentioned their favorite toppings: Peanut butter and syrup. While the thought of this makes me gag, I can appreciate that everyone has different tastes.

This morning, I hosted breakfast for my best friend and her sons. I mentioned all of the topping possibilities: Butter, maple syrup, boysenberry syrup, whipped cream, fresh fruit, and the peanut butter/ syrup combo. She replied that she doesn't do the combo, but her sister does.

It got me thinking- where did this peanut butter/ syrup cult originate? Before Eric, I had never even heard of this combo before. I mean, I guess if this is something you grew up eating (like in Eric's case), I can see how you'd like it. I, myself, don't really peanut butter OR syrup, so the thought of ruining a freshly made waffle with that thick, sticky, gooey mess grosses me out.

I loaded mine up with butter, a little bit of syrup, whipped cream, and fruit. -Fruit, because I'm being healthy, obviously.

So, let's hear it: How do you eat your waffles? Or pancakes, for that matter. What are your toppings of choice?

I thought this post was going to be about how you cut your waffles. Like, do you follow the lines/grid or do you just cut right through them like a maniac.

I suppose my OCD is showing.

Laugh!

When I was younger my dad used to put chocolate syrup and powdered sugar on our pancakes. Now I think it sounds like WAY too much sweets, but on my waffles I like butter and syrup.

I do peanut butter and syrup on pancakes... I will do it on waffles but what I really prefer is massive amounts of butter and syrup. :)

I usually do peanut butter + fruit, or make a peanut butter & jelly sandwich with my waffles. Something about waffles just begs for peanut butter. I'll admit to having eaten waffles with the peanut butter/syrup combo, but sometimes I don't want to give myself diabetes.

I used to just drown my pancakes and waffles in maple syrup. To the point where they were just a vehicle for my sugar/syrup addiction.

Now, I put less and enjoy the actual food a bit more.

About the Django. I say 3rd false ending because it feels like the movie should have already ended well before that point. Like Tarantino had all these other cool ideas that he just couldn't cut from the final film and kept going and going...

yeah it's uber violent but also hilarious and entertaining overall.

butter, whipped cream, fresh fruit.

Ratios:
1/4 stick of butter to 1 waffle;
complete layer of whipped cream, two times the height of the waffle;
1 tablespoon of fruit per waffle.

Perfection.

When I am at home I tend to do stuff like honey and butter or honey and peanut butter. My favorite is nutella and almonds. But when I go out for waffles I just do butter and syrup.

Being a diabetic, I will often use sugar free syrup on my frozen waffles.

Sometimes I'll change up to sugar-free jelly, or even better, cold cheese.

Cheeses of choice: american, cheddar, and colby-jack.

Just good ol' butter and syrup. I actually didn't even really love waffles or pancakes until the past year or so - now sometimes I actually CRAVE pancakes. Wtf? (Not preggo.)

I just want someone to make me waffles. I'll eat them plain.

Peanut butter and syrup. Every time, even on Eggos. Boosh.
